Blondes attract debate 14 January 2009
Men and women embarking on the dating game may be interested to hear about a debate taking place at the Parisian Sorbonne University on whether men find blondes more attractive.
Unsurprisingly entitled Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the Daily Mail reports that the event is set to discuss why men supposedly find it easier to seduce women with fair hair.
The paper quotes Marie-Camille Bouchindomme, the organiser of the event, who has said that blonde hair seems to "awaken some kind of desire in men".
Ms Bouchindomme went on to say that this reaction to blondes "can be anything from quite innocent to outright peversion".
She explained that the conference aims to discuss if the very existence of blond hair creates an instinctive reaction in men and whether in fact it is still true.
Venus, the goddess of love, is used as an example of a blond haired woman that reiterates the link between fair hair and male desire.
A recent survey undertaken by TRESemme Philips hair appliances found that men prefer women with long hair.
